The Intermediate Support Teams provide short term (up to 8 weeks) intensive, multidisciplinary interventions to older adults who may have complex needs because of an organic mental illness (dementia) or because of a significant functional mental illness (such as depression). The service we offer is based on needs rather than age, so we do also see some younger adults. We offer a fast response to give short-term intensive assessment and support.

Blackpool Fylde & Wyre Intermediate Support Team will provide a seven day per week service, from 8 am to 8pm, including Gatekeeping Assessments, providing also Intermediate Care/Home Treatment interventions for cases on the IST caseload.
