Phlebotomy

Summary

The Phlebotomy Service is provided to enable patients in the Central Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen area who have a blood test requested by a GP. The service also runs drop-in Anticoagulant (Warfarin) / INR clinics. 

What we do

Chorley & South Ribble Locality

Blood test clinics are provided within GP surgeries across the Chorley & South Ribble locality. Days and times of clinics are available from the surgery and all are run via an appointment system; appointments are booked directly with the surgery.

Anticoagulant Clinics for Chorley & South Ribble locality

Community anticoagulant clinics are run in several Community clinics (please follow this link for timetable). No appointment is necessary, service users can choose the clinic of their choice and a ticket system is available at each clinic, please note service users are requested to arrive at least 30 minutes before the end of each clinic session. Please ensure you have your Yellow Anticoagulant Book with you.

Chorley & South Ribble Hopsital offer Phlebotomy service as follows
CDH blood test clinic, located within outpatients: 0830-1630 Monday - Friday

Preston Locality
Drop-in clinics are available in Preston (please follow this link for timetable), no appointment is necessary, service users can choose the clinic of their choice and a ticket system is available at each clinic, please note that clinics can be very busy so service users are requested to arrive at least 30 minutes before the end of each clinic session. You must have a blood form with you when you attend to give to the Phlebotomist. 

Anticoagulant patients for Preston locality can attend any of the drop in clinics of their choice

Royal Preston Hospital offer Phlebotomy service as follows
RPH blood test clinic, located in the main entrance: 08.30am-5.00pm Monday - Friday for LTH bloods only, 5-7pm Thursdays only for GP bloods

How to access the service

The service will receive a blood test request form from the person's GP. They will arrange an appointment with a clinic. The person can also attend drop-in clinics in Preston.

Children’s clinics are held once a week by appointment only.

GPs directly refer to the Phlebotomy Service for home visits.
